The TALKS Mentoring Program recruits adult mentors to share wisdom with children. We understand that adults conduct business on a daily basis. The TALKS Mentoring Program is designed to be one of your weekly business appointments.
Dr. Harold Davis, executive director, founded the TALKS Mentoring Program in 1995. In 1996 the effort continued with seven men volunteering as mentors for one hour per week in the middle schools of Champaign, Illinois. Today, TALKS Mentoring Program is used in several states and various institutions.
TALKS has learned that a credible impact can be made in the life of a child with a minimal investment of time on the part of an adult. TALKS uses a systematic, structured, business approach to sharing wisdom with young people.
